To just observe the statistics from Martin Grange Racings first full season one would not fully understand the impact the team at MGR had on the racing scene in 2006.

Les Arcs got the ball rolling in December 2005 and was the stable’s first winner from only its second runner.

Les Arcs well and truly kept the ball rolling winning five races in a row and only denied a short head when trying to complete a six timer in the listed Abernant Stakes at Newmarket in April.

Roll on Chester and step in Admiral and the Chester Cup over the tight 2 miles of the Roodee who won readily after one of the rides of the season from John Egan.

This was followed with a win with Ooh Aah Camara the following day and MGR had fully announced their arrival.

As the season progressed so did the winners and so did Les Arcs. The one time handicapper was transformed into a dual Group One winning sprinter winning the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Darley July Cup at Newmarket.

Then there were the two year olds, with nine winners from only twenty seven runners MGR amassed a 33% strike rate with their Juveniles.

Not For Me won three races including the Listed Roses Stakes at York, Yungaburra won four races from five starts going up a staggering 37lb in the handicappers estimations.

Then there was Blue Rocket who made a winning debut at Haydock and was then aimed at a the 1000 gns.

By October, fifteen winners had flowed from the gates at Martin Grange.
However the season was not over yet with MGR more than doubling its tally, Chicken Soup being their 31st winner of the year on December 29th.

In those cold winter months multiple winners such as Eccollo, Happy as Larry, Yungaburra and the Mighty Soup certainly keeping the punters warm.

Martin Grange Racing is definitely a team for all seasons.

Into the 2007 season and a change of trainer has seen Daniel Murphy take over the reins from mid-way through the year.

As Danny settles into his new surroundings MGR has already enjoyed the success of five winners with plenty more to come as the new team kicks into gear.

Keep an eye on the website as further enhancements to the training establishment are advised which will no doubt ensure success at the highest level for MGR.
