Bright Falcon showed not only ability, but true grit, in overcoming the conditions at York for his win in the Collingwood Team Service E.B.F Maiden Stakes (Class 3) (2yo) 1m. Beautifully bred by Hawk Wing this is a colt with a definite future.
Ridden by Richard Hughes at York on debut, Bright Falcon scored by an eye-catching three lengths to No To Trident, with Mystery Star a further half length back in third spot.
The pace was good as Bright Falcon led the field towards the home straight and Mystery Star was being pushed along in fifth pace as Bright Falcon applied the pressure.
Over the final three furlongs he was narrowly ahead of his challengers but was already starting to show that grit needed in racing.
Bright Falcon found even more over the final furlong and shook off the intentions of Mystery Star to win easily from No To Trident, who finished off his run strongly.
