Tale Of The Cat colt Music Box Express has taken another step forward, with the three-year-old running third at Wolverhampton on Monday, despite not having the best of luck in running.
Ridden by Francis Norton in the Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (3yo+) (1200m), Music Box Express showed he is a youngster of ability when finishing just a half length off Tubby Isaacs (1st) and Perlachy (2nd).
“He was very unlucky,” said Danny Murphy.
“He should have won for sure, but still he has run a very good race and I’m very pleased at the way he’s improved since his debut run at Redcar.”
Music Express out of the Alydeed mare Aly McBe is owned and raced by Willie McKay and will be able to keep on improving as he learns what racing is all about.
