Martin Grange Racing was celebrating a double on Tuesday when Fast Freddie and Music Box Express were both successful at Lingfield and Wolverhampton respectively.
Fast Freddie (Richard Hughes) made it three wins on the trot when showing his tough streak in winning the Pontin's Book Early Price Promise Handicap (Div I) (Class 6) 1200m.
The three-year-old (x Agnes World) proved too good for Storm Burst by a half length, with Thoughtsofstardom a similar margin away third.
Willie McKay told Racing Post’s Graham Dench:
“Fast Freddie is owned by Gordon Crawford, who is a friend from Monaco and is currently on a yacht in the Caribbean.
“We came here fancying him here first time out last year and we had a box and had a good bet.
“He was beaten a short head but we've got our money back now and Richard (Hughes) gave him a fantastic ride.”
Music Box Express (Steve Drowne) stepped out at Wolverhampton winning the Pontin's Holidays Maiden Stakes (Class 5) (3yo+) 1000m by a length to Wibbadune with Perlachy in third spot a further length and three quarters away.
The three-year-old son of Tale Of The Cat was up on the pace throughout and while he looked momentarily as though he was going to lose touch at the turn, he found plenty of courage to box on nicely and finished too strong for his rivals.
