Martingrange Boy broke his maiden on December 22 when he won the Play Golf @ Lingfield Park Selling Stakes (Class 6) (2yo) at Lingfield.
Ridden by Steve Drowne, it wasn’t ‘just’ a win either with the winning margin an impressive three and a half lengths from Atephobia (Fergus Sweeney), with Wee Buns (L P Keniry) in third place a length back.
Last start Martingrange Boy ran second at Southwell and after showing plenty of pace he was able to go one better here.
The field went at a decent clip and clocked a time of 1.11.82 which was only half a second slower than Racing Post standard.
This was only his third start and Martingrange Boy (Danetime (IRE) (6.5f) - Coloma (JPN) (Forty Niner (USA)(8.1f))) will keep on improving as he goes through his grades.
